Job Opportunity: Case Manager - Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Facility Type: Acute Hospital (Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma)
Shift: 5x8 Days (Shift times vary between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Case Manager role. The position requires acute care experience and proficiency with Epic electronic health records. The nurse will work day shifts with every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule. Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Minimum 1 year of Case Management experience within the last year
- Acute Care experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health records
Work Hours & Conditions
- Guaranteed 72 hours per 2 weeks
- May be called off for one 8-hour shift per 2 weeks
- Only one time-off request per 13-week assignment (up to 5 days)
- No holiday time off allowed for auto offer
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background check within 45 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug screen (10 panel) within 90 days of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
Training & Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
- Epic training and access transcripts required
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules including:
- Annual regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules (ER, L&D, Leadership roles, etc.)
- Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
- Other certifications may be required based on unit and specialty (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI)
Additional Notes
- Floating policy acknowledgment required; may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
- Locals not accepted; candidate must reside at least 50 miles away
- First-time travelers accepted
- No prior travel experience explicitly required
