Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Eureka, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Daily Caseload: 8-12 procedures
  • Procedure Types:
    • Coronary artery disease diagnostics and interventions
    • Peripheral vascular disease diagnostics and interventions
    • Cardiac arrhythmias
    • Permanent pacemaker placements
  • Call Required: Yes
  • Weekend Work: No
  • Floating: No
  • Block Schedule: Considered
  • Orientation: 30 hours (Reduced Non-Billable Orientation; 0 hours NBO vs. standard 40)
  • Locals Accepted: Yes
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
  • Certifications:
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
    • Fluoroscopy Permit
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
  • Immunizations/Vaccinations:
    • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination accepted
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer or declination
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer or declination
    • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series or positive titer or signed declination
    • Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (9/1–3/30) or declination accepted
    • COVID-19: Vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
  • TB Test: Negative IGRA/TSPOT, QGold, or 2 PPDs within 12 months; must be updated annually
  • Drug Screen: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months; instant tests acceptable
  • Respirator Clearance: Required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024; must be medically cleared annually
  • Fit Mask Test: Required for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024; updated annually

Background and Compliance

  • Background Check: Within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must include SSN trace, death master index, sex offender registry, education verification, and more
  • Education Verification: Required for all candidates; nursing degree verification for RNs/LVNs
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks: Required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • State-specific searches and attestations as applicable
  • Annual Regulatory and Specialty-Specific Training Modules required via LMS (Workramp)
  • Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with neutral background required

  • Facility supports housing assistance, including realtor services if needed
  • Scrub colors provided for Cath Lab staff
  • No weekend requirement, but call is required
  • Facility is recognized for excellence in coronary intervention and has multiple nearby natural attractions
