Med/Surg RN Job Details

Location: Wichita, KS 67220 (Kansas nursing jobs)
Unit: Med/Surg (Telemetry T4/634)
Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
Start Date: November 10, 2025
End Date: February 9, 2026
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Pay: $1360 - $1460
Unit Size: 26 beds
Patient Ratio: 1:5

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kansas or compact state)
Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
ACLS and NIH Stroke Certification preferred
Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
Outgoing, team-oriented personality

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care to Med/Surg patients in a 26-bed hospital unit
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RNs, Patient Care Techs, and Charge Nurses
Utilize medical equipment such as lifts, wheelchairs, gait belts, and walkers/canes
Document patient care accurately using EMR systems
Assist with common procedures: TURPs, gastric bypass, joint replacement, post-hysterectomy, and gallbladder/appendectomy cases
Support, mentor, and train new nursing staff members
Promote a positive patient experience and contribute to staff satisfaction
