Job Opportunity: RN Cath Lab

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Assist with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
  • Prepare and position patients; select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice and regulations.
  • Observe patients during procedures and report any abnormal activity.
  • Monitor protocols and recommend updates as needed.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform specialized imaging procedures including angiography, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures.
  • Assist Radiologist/PA during procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards.

Required Credentials & Onboarding Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current nursing license with primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • BLS (AHA) – optional but recommended.
  • ACLS (AHA) – required prior to onboarding.

Exams & Testing (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)

  • Ascension Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%, 2 attempts allowed).
  • Ascension Specialty Exam (minimum 80% or national benchmark, 2 attempts allowed).
  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80%, updated yearly).
  • Ascension EKG Exam (minimum 80%, 2 attempts allowed; latest edition required).
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist with signed attestation.
  • Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical specialty, updated annually).

Health & Immunizations

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Required with annual TB questionnaire.
  • Positive PPD requires negative chest X-ray within 1 year and TB questionnaire.
  • Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite.
  • Health Statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.

Professional Documentation

  • Resume/Profile required for submission.
  • At least two professional references required prior to first assignment.
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and others within 30 days of assignment start; updated annually.
  • Employment verification for past 7 years; updated annually.
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; updated if break in service > 90 days.
  • Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment (start/end dates).
  • Ascension Badge Photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no filters).

Onboarding & Attestations

  • Completion of Medical Imaging Contract Worker Onboarding Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire).
  • Nursing Contingent Worker Onboarding attestation (6 hours pre-hire).
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules for non-allied positions.
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation.
  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (done onsite).

Additional Notes

  • Some optional documents and surveys may be requested post-assignment or during onboarding.
  • All activities must comply with applicable state and federal regulations and regulatory agency standards.
