Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Greensboro, NC 27401 (North Carolina nursing jobs)
- Facility Setting: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Unit
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/13/2026 – End: 4/14/2026)
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00pm – 7:00am)
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1700-$1820
- Employment Type: Travel RN contract
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Unit Size: 30 beds
- Weekend & Holiday Coverage: Required as needed
- Floating: May float to other Cone Health facilities
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
- BLS certification (required)
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications (preferred)
- EPIC EMR charting experience (required)
- Ability to pass a mandatory EKG exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
- Previous Charge RN experience (preferred)
- Proficient in blood product administration, chest tube care, colostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, feeding tube management, dysrhythmia interpretation, isolation precautions, IV/PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure, surgical drains, telemetry, rapid response/code teams, and wound care
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Education verification and background check required
- No local candidates accepted (must reside outside 50-mile radius)
Travel RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with medical, surgical, respiratory, palliative, psychiatric, and diabetic diagnoses
- Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKG readings
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform wound care procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Document patient care accurately using EPIC EMR system
- Float to other units or Cone Health facilities as required
- Participate in rapid response and code teams
- Support patients and families through palliative, end-of-life, and hospice care
- Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and clinical standards
