Job Description
The Adolescent Psychiatric Nurse works within a multidisciplinary team to identify individual and group needs and interventions. This role utilizes the nursing process to effectively meet the needs of patients requiring complex nursing care within a Co-Occurring Disorders Inpatient Treatment Program.
The position involves providing clinical supervision of Mental Health Workers (MHWs) to ensure safe and therapeutic delivery of care in a secure environment designed to promote healing and ongoing recovery. The treatment approach focuses on aiding patients in developing and maintaining sobriety while managing co-occurring psychiatric issues such as Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Anxiety Disorders.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and develop nursing care plans tailored to adolescent patients.
- Provide clinical supervision to MHWs and support safe patient care.
- Assist in the delivery of high-quality interventions and medically assisted drug and alcohol withdrawal.
- Educate patients and their families to foster strong and successful recovery.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Must have recent adolescent psychiatric experience within the last 3 months.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with inpatient psychiatric experience required in the last 3 months.
- Adolescent Psych/Behavioral Health experience must be clearly listed on the resume.
- Must be willing to float to other units and take charge shifts.
- Certifications such as BLS are required; CPI training is preferred.
- Drivers' license or candidate's address must be included in the submission packet to determine rate eligibility.
