Pediatrics RN - Inpatient Behavioral Health

Location

Brattleboro, Vermont

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Job Description

This position is for a highly experienced RN in a pediatric inpatient unit that specializes in behavioral health. The RN will work with a multidisciplinary team to identify and address the complex needs of patients requiring specialized nursing care. The role includes clinical supervision of Mental Health Workers (MHWs) to ensure safe and effective delivery of care in a therapeutic environment designed for healing and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care in a pediatric inpatient setting.
  • Utilize the nursing process to meet the needs of patients.
  • Supervise and mentor MHW staff to ensure effective patient care.
  • Support co-occurring disorders treatment, helping patients with substance use issues and psychiatric conditions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Must have at least 5 years of RN experience, with psychiatric experience within the last 3 months.
  • Recent pediatric experience in the last 3 months is required.
  • Pediatric Psych/Behavioral Health experience with specific age groups must be listed on the resume.
  • Must be willing to float to other units and take charge shifts.
  • Must be eligible to obtain necessary certifications and licenses.
  • Current BLS certification is preferred.
