Interventional Radiology Technologist

Schedule

This position offers a 5x8 hour work schedule, with on-call, callback, and holiday shifts as needed by the unit. The role includes 5-7 on-call shifts across a 7-week time block, with 2-4 of these shifts occurring on weekends.

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for selecting appropriate exposure factors, positioning patients, and producing high-quality radiologic images. The technologist collaborates effectively with the healthcare team to address issues in a timely manner while demonstrating compassion, respect, and professionalism in all interactions with patients.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations and assist Radiologists during procedures.
• Operate all radiology equipment with proficiency, promptly reporting malfunctions to the manager or lead.
• Complete all assigned procedures efficiently, utilizing downtime to assist colleagues and improve department operations.
• Maintain medication security and ensure confidentiality in all interactions involving patient data.
• Answer technical inquiries from physicians and hospital personnel, demonstrating effective communication skills.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two (2) years of relevant experience in radiology.
• Current New York State (NYS) License or eligibility to obtain prior to commencement.
• Certification in BLS from the American Heart Association.
• VIR Certification preferred.
