Job Description
The Physical Therapist evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with the patient’s needs and physician direction. Responsibilities include the delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that allow for effective return to community activities. The therapist serves as an educator of patients, families, students, coworkers, and self while performing other professional duties related to patient care, development of therapy services, and program delivery.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
- Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to address all discharge barriers.
- Manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions based on patient needs.
- Complete clear and accurate medical record documentation in compliance with policies.
- Participate in student programs and provide guidance and supervision.
- Create and pursue a professional development plan for personal growth.
- Engage in patient and professional advocacy efforts in the community.
- Maintain professional licensure in good standing and adhere to ethical standards.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- Must hold a valid, current state license as a Physical Therapist.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, including acute inpatient experience.
