Job Description
The Acute Care Occupational Therapist will provide evaluation and treatment for general acute care patients across various diagnoses including general and orthopedic surgery, dementia, and functional deficits. The focus will be on activities of daily living (ADLs), upper extremity (UE) assessments, and achieving functional outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapy interventions to improve patient outcomes.
- Assess and document patient progress and modify treatment as necessary.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care occupational therapy experience required.
- Current California occupational therapist license in hand is required.
- BLS certification is required.
- Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
