Description
Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT) specializing in Pediatrics is sought for an inpatient position located in Denver, Colorado. This role involves providing advanced respiratory care across all hospital areas, including medication delivery, emergency response, intubation assistance, ventilator management (both invasive and non-invasive), arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary hygiene, hyperinflation therapy, and patient transport of critically ill patients with artificial airways. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of orientation. The position is scheduled for night shifts, from 6:45 PM to 6:45 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Location: Denver, Colorado
- Schedule: 6:45 PM to 6:45 AM, every other week or more if willing, with potential for additional shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Colorado license; certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) by the AHA, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) by the AHA, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential via the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); minimum of 1 year of inpatient experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilator management (preferably Phillips ventilators or V60 models), ability to provide all respiratory modalities, and experience in trauma level 1 care settings
- Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NRP, Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via NBRC
- Additional Information: Potential for every other weekend or more if willing. RTs should never be the only respiratory therapist in the hospital at any given time. Must have the ability to assist with intubation but not necessarily perform independently. No float rotation required.
- Equipment: Use of ventilators (including 980 ventilator and V60 models).
- Charting System: EPIC
- Dress Code: Black pants and wine-colored top
- Other Notes: Trauma level 1 care setting, caring for adult patients, providing all respiratory modalities, and transporting critically ill patients with artificial airway.
