Travel RN Opportunity – Telemetry

Location: Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri
Hospital System: Mercy Health
Unit: Medical 7B (Telemetry)


Position Details

  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry Specialty
  • Employment Type: Travel
  • Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (flexible, must be specified on submission)
  • Weekend Hours: As required by facility
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Number of Openings: 1

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
  • BLS (American Heart Association) required
  • NIHSS certification required prior to start (can be submitted after application)

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience (inpatient only)
  • Competence in drug titration required
  • Experience with telemetry equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, and lift equipment
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR system

Unit & Patient Information

  • 32-bed telemetry unit
  • Patient ratios vary:
    • Days: 1:5 to 1:6
    • Nights: 1:6 to 1:7 (not guaranteed)
  • Patient population includes medical/medical telemetry patients and those with developmental delays
  • Float requirements: rotational basis

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Stand and walk most of the shift
  • Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
  • Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, kneeling, crouching, and minimal crawling
  • Exposure to blood and body fluids is a risk
  • Must be flexible with schedules and shifts based on patient care needs

  • Black scrubs only
  • No other scrub colors permitted
