Registered Nurse – MedSurg/Telemetry

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and communication to ensure continuity and quality of care for patients with complex medical-surgical and telemetry needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required.
• Organize and prioritize patient care based on individual and family needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and revise plans of care.
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn and provide appropriate education materials.
• Anticipate discharge needs and support patient/family advocacy.
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and cost-effective care initiatives.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
• Engage in professional development and intra/interdepartmental collaboration.
• Incorporate cultural and ethnic considerations into patient care planning.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of intermediate care nursing experience (must be listed on resume).
• At least 1 year of nursing experience overall.
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers (AHA or ARC).

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing school.

Additional Information

• This position requires night shifts with 12-hour workdays.
• Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
