Job Opportunity: X-Ray Technologist
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide advanced clinical quality patient care by producing radiologic images used for diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include completing x-rays efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care to ensure an excellent patient experience.
Essential Functions
- Determine appropriate radiographic techniques based on anatomy and patient condition to obtain quality images.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, including transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and positioning patients.
- Explain procedures to patients, considering their physical and emotional needs.
- Record digital images for radiologist interpretation.
- Maintain pertinent records.
- Provide radiation protection following safety standards.
- May assist Radiology Technologist Students and new staff with exams, sterile technique, and supply stocking.

Required Credentials & Compliance (Onboarding)
- MMR Vaccine or Immunity Proof: Documentation of two measles, two mumps, and one rubella vaccine or two MMR vaccines, or proof of immunity via blood test.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30). No exemptions allowed. Pharmacy/provider administered flu mist accepted; self-administered not accepted.
- TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative QuantiFERON/T-spot blood test within 3 months of start date; updated if >6 month break.
- Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date; updated if >6 month break.
- Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start; includes county and international searches if applicable.
- Massachusetts CORI Check: Completed within 30 days prior to start; includes criminal history from age 17 onward.
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit testing is needed for the role.
- Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form: Required for all initial assignments and extensions.
- Education Verification: Verified through background check company; must confirm highest education level achieved.
- SSN Trace: Must be run with criminal check covering last 7 years of addresses and aliases.
- National Sex Offender Check: Conducted within 30 days of start and updated annually.
- Exclusion Checks: Includes OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid exclusion lists; updated annually.
Required Documents for Submission
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
- Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above) in the relevant skillset.
- Skills checklist.
- Candidate submission coversheet (current version).
Optional / Preferred Credentials
- Hepatitis B Vaccine or Immunity Proof: Strongly preferred but not required.
- Tdap Vaccine: Preferred if within last 10 years.
- Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray: If applicable, documentation required.
- TB Symptom Survey: If positive PPD, must be completed prior to start and updated annually.
This position requires adherence to strict health and safety protocols and thorough credential verification prior to onboarding.
