Registered Nurse (LTC/SNF) - South Dakota

Job Details

Location: Canistota, South Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: If holidays fall within your scheduled block during the contract
Unit Size: 55 beds
Patient Population: Elderly patients including those with dementia and behavioral health diagnoses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia (behavioral program available)
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:
- Day shift: Approximately 1 nurse to 23 patients
- Night shift: Approximately 1 nurse to 45 patients
- Med aide support from 6 PM to 10 PM; 1 nurse from 10 PM to 6 AM
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): PCC
Orientation: Location-specific training, tour, competencies, and opportunity to shadow 1-2 shifts

Required Qualifications

License: Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in South Dakota
Certifications: BLS Certification required
Experience: Preference for experience in psychiatric long-term care (geriatric psych)

Additional Information

No on-call or call-back responsibilities
Backouts or quits with less than 14 days' notice will incur a $500 fee
12-hour block scheduling
Local rates apply within 80 miles (note: pay details excluded)
