Operating Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) with weekend call only
Hours per Week: 36

Job Summary

Seeking experienced Registered Nurses for Operating Room (OR) with focus on Orthopedics, DaVinci (General), and Trauma cases.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Trauma experience

Required Compliance & Documentation

• Background check covering 7 years of criminal history, including all locations lived/worked in that period
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) within 30 days of start date or chest X-ray if previously positive
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug test within last 12 months (instant acceptable)
• COVID-19: Full vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions must be submitted on facility-specific forms
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific documents and agreements prior to start, including:

  • Information Security and Confidentiality Agreement
  • PHI Pledge of Confidentiality
  • Clinical On-boarding Exam
  • New Hire and Annual Education review
  • TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
• Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology competency
• Dress code adherence as per facility policy

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)

• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room)

• Shift includes weekend call only
• Facility requires annual updates for certain certifications and health documents
• Orientation and competency exams are mandatory for all clinical candidates

This position is ideal for OR RNs with orthopedic, trauma, and robotic surgery experience seeking a 13-week travel assignment in Louisiana.
