Job Description
- Perform diagnostic sonography procedures in areas including OB/GYN, abdomen, breast, vascular, and small parts.
- Apply sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment.
- Prepare patients for procedures, provide instructions, and ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
- Select and operate ultrasound equipment and associated devices.
- Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and proper identification.
- Assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures, including preparation and administration of contrast media and/or medications as permitted.
- Practice aseptic techniques and initiate basic life support when necessary.
- Provide patient education and maintain confidentiality of records.
- Participate in quality assessment and improvement plans, including quality control duties.
- Provide practical instruction to students and other healthcare professionals.
- Support department inventory control and supply purchasing.
- Participate in required education programs and other duties as assigned.
- May be floated to other qualified patient care departments as needed.
Shift and Hours

- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ultrasound Technologist license in Oregon
- Associate or Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Registered OBMI and ARDMS Ultrasound Sonographer
- Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- CRASE training (required if assignment extends beyond 6 months).
Additional Notes
- Advanced users have in-depth knowledge of all clinical ultrasound applications and serve as in-house training resources.
- Must demonstrate professional judgment and maintain medical ethics.
- Supports hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
