Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery / Mother-Baby / Postpartum
Location: Princeton, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7p-7a)
Hours: 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week
Unit: Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Mother-Baby
Unit Details
- 12 Labor & Delivery beds
- 1 Operating Room suite
- 1 Triage bed
- 4 Postpartum beds
- Approximately 80-100 births per year
- Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
- Telemetry available; RNs read fetal monitoring strips
- Charge nurse/house supervisor role available
- OB techs support the unit; no in-house OB/Neonatologist 24/7
- Respiratory therapy equipment available: CPAP, BiPAP, ventilators
Required Certifications & Skills
- Basic Fetal Monitoring (required)
- BLS Certification
- Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines
- Experience in Antepartum, Intrapartum, and Postpartum care
- Ability to titrate drips (Oxytocin, Insulin, Epidural)
- Ability to circulate and recover Cesarean sections preferred
Patient Population / Common Diagnoses
- Gestational Hypertension
- Gestational Diabetes
- PreEclampsia
Scheduling & Requirements
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend
- Holiday requirement: work either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day
- Call requirement: 3-4 call shifts in a 6-week schedule; must be available and able to report within 30 minutes if called
- No floating requirements
- Unit-specific orientation provided intradepartmentally
- Scrubs provided on site
Additional Notes
- Candidates must submit a copy of an unexpired driver’s license
- Any licensing issues must be disclosed at time of submission
- 100-mile radius rule applies for candidate submissions
