Location: St Johnsbury, Vermont
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday - Friday plus on-call
Hours per Week: 40

Job Description

Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care across all phases of the surgical experience, including:

• Pre-operative preparation
• Intraoperative care (serving as circulator and scrub nurse)
• Post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) recovery

This role requires versatility to function in multiple perioperative roles with opportunities for cross-training and skill development. You will participate in an on-call rotation requiring:

• One night per week on call
• Every fourth weekend on call
• Ability to respond and be ready to begin a case within 30 minutes when on call

Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and clinical excellence, adhering to AORN standards and surgical safety processes such as time-outs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Vermont
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Perioperative nursing experience
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
