Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry

Job Overview

• Work in a 25-bed critical access hospital providing 24/7 emergency care, primary care, diagnostic and medical-surgical services, women’s health, ambulatory surgery, and swing bed program.
• Unit specialty: Medical-Surgical with Telemetry.
• Shift: Evening/Night (18:45 - 07:15).
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36 (requests for 48 hours accepted).
• Weekend requirement: Every third weekend; weekend rotation as needed.
• No call requirements.

Patient Population & Common Diagnoses

• Adult to geriatric patients.
• Common conditions: Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), general deconditioning requiring physical/occupational therapy, and COVID-19.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year.
• Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Skills & Experience

• Telemetry skills required.
• Unit accepts first-time travel nurses.
• No travelers allowed within 50 miles of the facility.

Work Environment & Tools

• Electronic Health Record system: Cerner.
• Equipment used includes Omnicell medication system and SBAR communication method.
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs.
