Job Opportunity: Technologist (PET CT)

Location

  • Cooperstown, New York

Employment Type

  • Contract Clinician
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • 10-hour day shifts
  • 40 hours per week

Job Description

  • Perform PET/CT imaging procedures with a focus on patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and ease concerns.
  • Interpret physician orders and select appropriate imaging parameters and software options.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic PET/CT images to assist accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ensure patient safety through pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection techniques, and adherence to radiation safety regulations.
  • Document properly when handling radioactive materials and patients.
  • Troubleshoot imaging equipment including scanners, mobile coaches, monitors, PACS, and coils.
  • Train new technologists and/or patient care staff as needed.
  • Work environments may include outpatient centers, mobile units, or inpatient hospital settings.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of PET/CT technologist experience (minimum)
  • Dual certification as a PET/CT technologist:
    • ARRT (CT) and ARRT (N) certifications OR
    • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification for both CT and Nuclear Medicine
  • Valid New York state licenses for both CT Technologist and Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Experience with GE Discovery IQ equipment preferred
