Description

Registered Nurse (LTC/SNF) - Night Shift

Location: Miller, South Dakota
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Job Summary

Provide nursing care to residents in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility according to physician orders, individualized care plans, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include observing and documenting resident conditions, updating care plans, notifying physicians and families of changes, and using the electronic medical record (EMR) system accurately.


Work Schedule

  • Night shift
  • 12-hour shifts
  • 36 hours per week (typically three 12-hour shifts)
  • Work week runs Sunday through Saturday
  • Every other weekend and holiday required
  • Shift hours: 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM

Essential Duties

  • Assist in formulating and updating resident care plans
  • Provide nursing care per physician orders and regulations
  • Observe, document, and report resident conditions and care given
  • Respond promptly to resident call lights
  • Educate residents and families/significant others
  • Handle linens and dispose of soiled items according to guidelines
  • Follow standard precautions and infection control practices
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team and families
  • Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Dakota
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Long Term Care (LTC) and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) settings
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Physical and Work Environment

  • Moderate noise level typical of healthcare settings
  • Physical demands include frequent communication, observation, assessment, and movement
  • Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities
  • Frequency of travel may vary based on business needs

Additional Information

  • Local placement within an 80-mile radius
  • No on-call or call-back required
  • A $500 fee applies if the clinician cancels or quits with less than 14 days’ notice
  • Guaranteed minimum hours: 36 per week for 12-hour shifts
  • Housing may be available with local rates applied
