Registered Nurse (LTC/SNF) - Night Shift

Location

• Miller, South Dakota

Job Summary

Provide nursing care to residents in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility according to physician orders, individualized care plans, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include observing and documenting resident conditions, updating care plans, notifying physicians and families of condition changes, and using electronic medical records (EMR) accurately.

Essential Duties

• Assist in formulating and updating resident care plans.
• Provide nursing care per physician orders and regulations.
• Observe, document, and report resident conditions.
• Respond promptly to resident call lights.
• Educate residents and families/significant others.
• Handle linens and supplies according to infection control guidelines.
• Use personal protective equipment and follow standard precautions.
• Report and ensure timely follow-up on signs of infection.

Work Schedule

• Night shift: 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• 36-40 hours per week guaranteed
• Overtime available

Contract Length

• 8 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Dakota
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of therapeutic effects and side effects of medications administered
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform job duties requiring movement and positioning
• Ability to operate and use necessary tools and equipment related to nursing care
