Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist

Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Job Description

• Perform breast imaging procedures using x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment.
• Apply medical imaging techniques to demonstrate breast anatomy for interpretation or intervention by licensed practitioners.
• Exercise professional judgment and maintain ethical standards.
• Provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful procedure completion.
• Assist in maintaining medical records while respecting confidentiality.
• Report equipment malfunctions and assume responsibility for assigned area.
• Provide practical instruction to students or other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement plans, including quality control duties.
• Manage inventory and care of mammography-specific equipment such as compression devices.
• Maintain knowledge of and observe Universal Precautions.
• Apply effective patient relations skills.
• Pursue continuing education relevant to the specialty.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Mammography Technologist license in New York.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
• Mammography Technologist experience within the last year.
