Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry

Position Details

  • Specialty: Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS/Tele RN)
  • Shift: Nights, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:6 to 1:7
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-call: Not required
  • Floating: Required to float within scope to like units with similar patient populations

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience with a minimum of 2 years
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
  • One completed travel nursing assignment
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of all assigned orientation modules prior to start (estimated 2 hours)
  • Attendance at staff meetings is mandatory
  • Must upload COVID vaccination records or complete a vaccination declination form
  • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31)
  • Must provide proof of 2 clinical references
  • Physical exam within one year attesting ability to meet physical demands
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start or appropriate follow-up if positive
  • Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Required to sign facility-specific documents including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreements, and Orientation Acknowledgements prior to start
  • Must provide a clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance

Scheduling and Policies

  • Guaranteed hours with allowance for 1 shift call-off per 2 weeks
  • Call-out policy: More than 2 call-outs without documented medical reason may lead to contract cancellation
  • Local candidates considered (within 60 miles radius)
  • Block schedule accommodation possible with prior approval (not guaranteed)

  • During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; new or extension assignments during this period should be considered carefully.
  • Radiation badge not required for this position.
  • Education verification and work history verification are not required for this facility.
  • Nursys license verification required.
  • IV certification not required for this RN position.
  • Must complete all required health screenings and immunizations as per facility policy.
