Description
We're looking for Sleep Technicians for an immediate travel opening in Honolulu, HI.
The right Sleep Technician should have 1 year of experience. Read below for more requirements.
As a Sleep Technician, you will conduct overnight sleep studies to diagnose and monitor patients with sleep disorders. Youll work closely with physicians to ensure accurate testing and contribute to patient care by collecting and interpreting sleep-related data.
As a Sleep Technician, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
- Prepare patients for overnight polysomnographic studies by explaining procedures and attaching monitoring equipment
- Monitor patients' physiological responses during sleep using EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, respiratory, and oxygen saturation equipment
- Identify and respond to sleep-related events such as apneas, hypopneas, and arousals
- Ensure accurate data collection and documentation throughout the study
- Recognize medical emergencies and respond according to protocol
- Score sleep studies and generate preliminary reports for physician review (if credentialed to do so)
- Maintain and calibrate sleep lab equipment
- Promote patient safety and comfort throughout the study
- Follow infection control and privacy standards
- Work overnight shifts, typically 10-12 hours in duration
The ideal candidate must have at least one year of experience as a Sleep Technician. Additionally, they should possess a current BLS certification and hold the RPSGT National Certification. State licensure may be required.
Sleep Technicians should be able to stay alert throughout long night shifts, have excellent attention to detail, and possess strong interpersonal skills to provide compassionate patient care.
Requirements*: BRPT (RPSGT), BLS, 1 Year
* Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
