Job Overview

Seeking a Registered Nurse with Med/Surg experience for a travel assignment. The role involves providing competent nursing care across the continuum from pediatric to geriatric patients, with a focus on surgical patients and perioperative care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough, systematic patient assessments across all age groups.
• Deliver direct patient care and support the patient care team.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing processes and patient progress, including patient education.
• Adhere to professional standards, policies, and procedures, identifying opportunities for clinical and professional growth.
• Promote patient and family-centered care, maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including use of two patient identifiers and safe transfer/body mechanics techniques.
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical patient conditions, procedures, anesthesia types, and equipment.
• Prioritize and direct patient care based on patient needs and condition changes.
• Provide pre-operative and postoperative patient education and assessments.
• Support Pre Admission Testing (PAT) by evaluating orders for appropriateness and completeness.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Current RN license.
• BLS certification.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Physical Requirements

• As defined by Occupational Safety/OMS standards.
