Job Opportunity: RN PACU (Travel)

Location: Wichita, Kansas

Job Description

  • Provide Phase 1 recovery care in the PACU/Recovery unit.
  • Rotating 8-hour evening shifts: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Saturday.
  • Includes rotating night, weekend, and holiday call.

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Must be AHA certified.
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Must be AHA certified.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Must be AHA certified.
  • Nursys Verification – Within 30 days prior to start; disciplinary actions require additional documentation.
  • Current Nursing License – Primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Driver's License/State ID – Must be valid and match address requirements.

Required Training & Competencies

  • Ascension Color Vision Test – Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
  • Ascension Core Competencies – HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly (minimum 80% score).
  • NIH Certification – Updated yearly for Group A, every 2 years for Groups B-F.
  • Ascension EKG Exam – Passing score of at least 80%, two attempts allowed.
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation – Completed pre-hire.
  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding – Completed onsite.
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip Training – Pre-hire modules required.
  • MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training – Required.
  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out – Required.
  • Ascension Skills Checklist – Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen – Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
  • Ascension Education Verification – Verification of education within 90 days of start.
  • Ascension Confirmation of Assignment – Provided upon initial assignment and updates with extensions.
  • Ascension Criminal Background Check – Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, and national sex offender check; updated annually.
  • Ascension EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) Check – Run within 90 days of start and rerun if break in service > 90 days.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
  • Fit Test – Required annually; preferred prior to start.
  • Hepatitis B – Documentation of vaccination series or signed declination.
  • Influenza Vaccine – Required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
  • Positive PPD / Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire – Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest x-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire.
  • 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) – Required within 1 year and 30 days of start.
  • Varicella – Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted.
  • Tdap – Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
  • Health Statement – Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.

Additional Requirements

  • Ascension Badge Photo – Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
  • Professional References – At least two professional references completed prior to first assignment.
  • Employment Verification – Third-party verification for past seven years; updated annually.
  • Resume/Profile – Required for submission.
  • Optional: Post-assignment evaluation and legal documentation of name change if applicable.

This position requires thorough onboarding and compliance with all listed certifications, trainings, and health requirements prior to assignment start.
