Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in PACU for a travel assignment in Wichita, Kansas.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Must be AHA certified
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Must be AHA certified
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Must be AHA certified
- Nursys Verification – Within 30 days prior to start; disciplinary actions require additional documentation
- Current Nursing License – Primary source verification within 30 days prior to start
- Ascension Color Vision Test – Completed prior to start and updated every 3 years
- Ascension Core Competencies – HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly (minimum 80% score)
- NIH Certification – Group A updated yearly, Groups B-F every 2 years
- MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
- Ascension EKG Exam – Passing score of at least 80%, two attempts allowed
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out – Required training and test results
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding
- Ascension Nova StatStrip Training
Health & Immunization Requirements
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted
- Fit Test – Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite; updated annually
- Hepatitis B – Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza Vaccine – Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
- Positive PPD / Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire – Must provide positive IGRA or PPD results, chest x-ray within a year, and completed TB questionnaire; updated annually
- 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) – First PPD within 1 year, second within 30 days of start; or negative IGRA within 90 days prior to start
- Varicella – Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted
- Tdap – Valid for 10 years from administration; no declinations accepted
- Health Statement – Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen – Completed within 30 days prior to start and updated annually; includes testing for 12 specified drugs
Professional Requirements
- Driver's License/State ID – Must be current and valid; address must match licensing requirements
- Ascension Profile (Resume)
- Two Professional References – Completed prior to first assignment
- Criminal Background Check – Includes Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender; completed within 30 days of first assignment and updated annually
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) Check – Run within 90 days of start and rerun if break in service > 90 days
- Ascension Skills Checklist – Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually
- Education Verification – Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; updated if break in service > 90 days
- Confirmation of Assignment – Provided upon initial assignment and updated with each extension
- Employment Verification – Third-party verification for past seven years; updated annually or if break in service > 90 days
- Ascension Badge Photo – Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations or filters
Optional / Additional Requirements
- Ascension Unit Specific Checklist – Optional for onboarding but must be uploaded within a week by unit leader
- Hiring Manager Evaluation – Post-assignment evaluation (optional)
- Name Change Documentation – Legal documentation if applicable
This position requires compliance with all listed certifications, licenses, health screenings, and professional verifications prior to and during the assignment.
