Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract) - Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin

Position Overview

• License: Wisconsin or Compact license in hand
• Experience: Minimum 1 year with prior Orthopedics experience
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• Locals: Accepted (at a lower rate)

Job Description

• Coordinate and administer nursing care in a physician office or clinic setting.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess physical, psychosocial, and spiritual patient needs.
• Facilitate and evaluate patient compliance with healthcare interventions.
• Provide ongoing patient care in an outpatient setting, bridging episodic care with long-term outpatient relationships.
• Assess patient needs via phone and triage to appropriate care levels.
• Provide patient, family, and significant others teaching as needed.
• Administer immunizations and medications according to established procedures.
• Facilitate completion of diagnostic testing as ordered by physicians.
• Communicate effectively in a variety of emotional situations.
• Administer medications safely and timely in accordance with policy.

Required Background and Compliance

• 7-year background check including SS trace, county searches for all locations lived/worked/schooled, nationwide, and sex offender registry.
• Wisconsin Caregiver Screening required.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Negative QGold TB test within 1 year (Chest X-Ray within 60 days if applicable).
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 14 days before start (instant acceptable).
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct-Mar).
• Two professional references verified within 2 years of start.
• Annual skills checklist required.

Additional Certifications (Preferred/As Applicable)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
• NIH Stroke Certification (for ICU, IMC/IMCU, inpatient, Med Surg, Step Down RN positions)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
• Color Blind Testing (for dialysis/kidney center roles)

Facility Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport style, shoulders up, no filters)
• Compliance checklist and confidentiality statement to be completed prior to start
• Flu vaccine exemption forms if applicable
• Dosimeter request form (Imaging Department only, not required for MRI Tech)
