Job Opportunity: Oncology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Schedule: Will work every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Unit: Oncology with Chemotherapy certification required
- Facility Type: Short term acute care hospital, Level II Trauma Center
- Charting System: EPIC (experience required)
- Floating: May float to other MedSurg units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Oncology experience, with Oncology experience within the last year
- Chemotherapy certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
Background and Documentation Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace, national sex offender, federal and state checks
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education verification including foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
- Employment application with 7-year work history and no gaps greater than 90 days
- Work history verification for last 7 years (attestations not accepted)
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure if applicable to certain units

This position is ideal for experienced Oncology RNs with chemotherapy certification who are comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment and are proficient with EPIC charting. The role requires flexibility to float to other MedSurg units and work occasional weekends and holidays.
