Description
Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (typically 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM or 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Guaranteed hours: Options for 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts with weekly hours ranging from 36 to 48
- On-call requirement: 10-12 call shifts per month with a 30-minute response time; call duration 12-14 hours starting after shift or at 5 PM if not working that day
- Must work at least 1 winter holiday during the contract
- First-time travelers accepted
- Locals accepted
- Pending state license accepted if application is submitted
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with intervention and performing STEMI cases
- Comfortable using EP (Electrophysiology) devices (hard requirement)
- National Certifications:
- ARRT (R) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
- Valid state license (pending license accepted if applied for)
- Must be able to meet call requirements and response times

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy required)
- Background checks including:
- 7-year residence/work history verification
- SSN Trace, County Criminal, Statewide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level III
- Education verification (may be pending at start if needed)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Education: Official transcript or diploma required (may be pending at start)
- Certifications verification within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start (specific respirators required)
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (strongly recommended)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination required
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant tests not accepted)
- Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score
- Skills checklist and competency exams required annually
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years (supervisory or managerial titles required)
- Employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
Additional Notes
- Block scheduling may be discussed but is not guaranteed
- On-site fit testing available only as a last resort and with prior approval
- Must complete facility-specific compliance and confidentiality forms prior to start
- Must complete orientation and competency exams as required by the facility
This position is ideal for Cath Lab Technologists with strong interventional cardiology skills, comfortable with STEMI cases and EP devices, seeking a travel contract with a reputable acute care facility.
