Job Opportunity: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - Travel/Contract
Location
- Bristol, Tennessee
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- No on-call duties
- Schedule flexibility: Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
- Additional overtime shifts available and may be adjusted based on hospital needs without penalty
- General orientation starts on Mondays with online computer-based learning (CBLs)
- Orientation includes 16 hours of nonbillable training
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Tennessee
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Current AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- Current AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
Licensure
- Must hold a valid Respiratory Therapist license appropriate for Tennessee
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years; updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification required
- Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check required if licensed or working in Tennessee
- Primary source verification of state license
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
- Photo for badge must meet specific standards and be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing
- Completion of facility-specific forms including dress code, uniform guidelines, exposure statements, smoking/tobacco use policy, influenza policy, and respirator medical evaluation questionnaire (time sensitive)
- Respiratory medical clearance form to be completed by candidate and facility
- CDC facial hair guidelines for respirator use must be followed
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date (not required by facility but required by agency)
- Onsite respiratory fit mask testing (no outside fit tests accepted)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccination documentation
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella titer or vaccination documentation
- Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 29 – Mar 31)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must commit to completing drug testing within 10-14 days prior to start date
- References: Minimum 2 references accepted; 3 preferred
- Skills checklist required prior to start
