Description
MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shifts, 3 shifts per week (Sunday, Friday, Saturday)
- Shift Hours: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (12.5 hours)
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, blocked weekend shifts
- On-Call: Approximately 1 night per week from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM
- Floating: Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required
- Local Candidates: Not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
- Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 3 shifts per 13 weeks
- Schedule Accommodation: Block schedule not accommodated

Required Qualifications
- MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (MR) certification
- ARRT (R) certification
Licensure & Compliance
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- Government-issued ID required
- Professional license primary source verification required (Missouri licenses verified via NURSYS)
- Background checks required including:
- Criminal background check (7-year search, statewide and nationwide) within 6 months of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG quarterly checks
- State-specific searches and registries as applicable
- Drug testing required within 1 year of start, must include a full panel (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.)
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start
- Fit mask (N95) testing required annually
- Immunizations and titers required or declination forms for:
- Tdap (Tdap vaccine or declination required)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD or equivalent)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept 30 – April 1)
Compliance & Documentation
- Photo for badge (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
- HIPAA Acknowledgement, Confidentiality Form, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Hand Hygiene Policy, Dress Code Policy, and other facility-specific compliance documents must be signed and updated annually
- Regulatory Compliance Education quiz must be completed annually with a minimum score of 80%
- Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be updated annually
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred within last year)
- Employment application must be submitted and uploaded for facility review
Additional Information
- Floating between units and departments may be required within scope of practice
- Facility uses navy scrub color
- On-call shifts typically occur overnight once per week
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Candidates must be prepared for a Level 1 trauma environment and adult acute care settings
This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with at least 2 years of experience who are comfortable working weekends, on-call shifts, and floating between units in a high-acuity, tertiary care hospital setting.
