Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)
Location: Medford, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position requires acute care experience as a Case Manager RN.
- Float between multiple acute care units including ICU, Medical, Med-Surg, Telemetry, Observation Unit, and Emergency Department.
- Weekend work required as needed; no on-call or block schedules.
- Patient ratio approximately 1:16.
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM).
- Facility type: Short Term Acute Care with 108 staffed beds.
- Charting system: Epic.
- Scrub color: Business casual for Case Manager role.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 1 year of Care Manager experience, with recent experience within the last year.
- Acute Care Case Management experience.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
- Certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation.
- Immunizations and screenings required:
- TB test (IGRA/TSPOT, QGold, or 2 PPDs within 12 months) with annual updates.
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted.
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination.
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instants acceptable.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use (travel only).
- Fit mask testing required annually for travel candidates; may be completed onsite.
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report.
- State-specific searches and registries as applicable (e.g., Oregon Abuse/Neglect, Washington State Patrol).
- E-Verify attestation required.
- NURSYS license verification required for all RNs.
- Photo for badge required (passport style with neutral background).

- Orientation reduced to 20 hours (non-billable) instead of standard 40 hours.
- Floating policy acknowledgment required; may float to other facilities within reasonable distance.
