Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) position in Schenectady, New York. Candidates are responsible for providing specialized emergency care within a state-of-the-art emergency department observation unit. This role requires bringing a valid New York license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Specialty: Emergency Room (ER)
- Shift Hours: 12-hour nights, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a 30-minute unpaid break
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
- Start Date: 07/13/2026
- Travel Required: No
- Float: Float rotation may be required
- Required Qualifications: Valid New York license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required; PALS certification is required at time of submission. A minimum of 2 years of ER experience is required for auto offer, but candidates with 1 year may be screened to the manager.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course), CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certifications are preferred.
- Additional Information:
- Unit specific procedures include drips, infusions, phlebotomy, starting IVs, EKGs, transports, and medication administration.
- The unit has 70 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5.
- The ED offers a broad range of services including evaluation and stabilization of illness and trauma, specialty services such as cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, psychiatry, and more.
- A dedicated mental health crisis stabilization unit is staffed 24/7 with mental health professionals for patients in crisis.
- Submission must include recent Nursys verification.
