Sooooooooo Badddddddddddd
I am extremely dissatisfied by my interactions with Troy Winkelman the recruiter, I’d even give 0 stars if I could. I have a masters degree and a clinical license (LCSW) in 2 states, and he talked down to me like I knew nothing. He made my 1st phone conversation with him uncomfortable by using the word “sexy” 2x in describing things about the position (would he have used that same word if I’d been a man, for instance?) - it was just plain inappropriate. I accepted an offer and he told me I had to fill out the emailed copy of the contract and send it back to him within 1 business day…I got it back to him within a couple hours of our conversation. I spoke with him again 2 business days later (after completing and signing the contract) - he said he needed to talk with me urgently about a matter. Turns out that upon further communication between him and the hospital I was going to work for, my previously agreed upon pay (the one listed in the contract I’d signed) was going to actually be cut by ~$25.00/hour. He said he’d spoken with his supervisor and worked things out so I’d be getting paid $6.00/hour less instead, but the issue I had is why did I sign the contract at all if they were just going to change it afterwards?! It makes no sense. Additionally, in Troy and I’s initial phone call, I’d made it clear that, despite the employer’s request for an 02/27 start date, I’d need to start on 03/06 at the earliest as I would be out of state until the end of Feb. Troy stated that he understood this and would communicate this with the employer. He shared that 06/03 would need to be my potential end date, pushing things out for 1 week because of a later start date, and he recommended that I put 03/06-06/03 in the contract (which I did). When I spoke with him about the contract again 2 business days later (yesterday), he shared that my start date would need to be firmly on 02/27 and acted like he had no idea what I was talking about when I referenced our previous conversation about starting on 03/06. He made it seem like it was my fault and a miscommunication on my end. I later checked my signed and submitted contract to verify that I was not in the wrong, and it all confirmed what I’d expected. I ended up taking screenshots of the contract and texting them to Troy and stating that I was no longer interested in working with Troy, the facility, or Total Med. This was an awful experience and it may deter me from pursuing contract work altogether in the future because it was so so so bad. Do yourself a huge favor and don’t work with Troy or Total Med!!! If you do, please make sure to communicate solely by text/email so there is a paper trail if things go awry. I’m going to recommend to all my travel LCSW/RN/BSN, MSN to steer clear of Total Med!!!! 🤮🤮🤢🤢😡😡
