About the Facility
As part of the Kaiser Permanente group, the Oakland Medical Center offers high quality care to residents of the Bay Area, along with sister institutions based in Alameda, Pinole and Richmand. Kaiser is a name that is synonymous with high quality healthcare and the Oakland Medical Center is no exception to the rule.

About Oakland, CA
Oakland has long been overshadowed by San Francisco, its glamorous neighbor across the bay, but the city has become a trendy destination with plenty of its own on offer. Jack London Square is Oakland's only publicly accessible mixed-use waterfront and marina area. It’s also an iconic symbol of the city's resurgence, where novelist Jack London worked as a fisherman in the late 19th century. Today it's known for its many fine dining options focusing on fresh seafood with a bay view. Several excursions on the water also depart from here, including cruises and guided canoe, kayak and paddleboarding tours. Lake Merritt is popular for a walk, run, or cruise in a traditional Venetian gondola. You’ll also find many museums, art galleries, shops and performing arts venues downtown. The historic Fox Theater, with its magnificent art deco interior, hosts a wide array of musical performances from indie rock to hip hop.

Cody is a great guy. I felt it took more legwork than it should have on my part, sorting out what to do with all of the shift call offs. My company provided housing was on Hollywood Blvd and the entire place smelled of old pet urine. The apt complex tried to clean the carpet, but it wasn’t salvageable. I had to move to a 2nd apt a week or 10 days after my arrival. Never again will I take company housing!
Biggest draw back: myself and a lot of others have a lot of pay issues. Their software is bad and when something goes wrong it takes a while to fix it. Im sure others have had better experiences, but I continue to have poor outcomes during and in between assignments. “Customer service” line they always tell you to call for software issues doesn’t answer sometimes. Recruiters, managers, and financial team often don’t answer to emails or phone. They bait and switch a lot of positions - especially for Kaiser. You can find a person now and then that knows how to do their job, but mostly not. I assume this means they have a fairly high attrition rate.
