About Plano, TX

A map of Plano.

Plano may be overshadowed by the state's larger cities like Dallas, located less than 20 miles south, but what was once a small farming community is much more than a convenient base today. It blends world-class shopping and dining, museums and numerous recreational opportunities with the charms of a historic downtown. The downtown area spans six blocks and is home to the oldest buildings in the city, dating back to 1896. When you aren't enjoying a meal at a local eatery or browsing the unique shops, odds are you’ll find a street event to check out, with everything from seasonal activities to art festivals abundant. The city's signature event is the colorful Plano Balloon Festival, taking place over a four-day weekend around the start of fall with entertainment, races, vendors selling handmade products, a remarkable array of food, kids' activities and hot-air balloons.

Vivian rates working as a Travel Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse in Plano, TX as a 86 out of 100.
