• Weekly Gross: $2,895.00 Per Week
• On W2(Taxable): $900.00 Per Week ($25/hour)
• Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,995.00 Per Week
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at WellSpan York Hospital. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing open-heart surgeries and other cardiovascular procedures. This position requires strong expertise in open-heart procedures, scrubbing, and ensuring patient safety in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the surgical preparation of patients undergoing open-heart surgeries and other cardiac procedures.
• Provide support to the surgical team in the CVOR and scrub as required.
• Monitor patient vitals and assist in patient positioning and anesthesia administration.
• Administer medications, manage equipment, and ensure patient safety throughout surgical procedures.
• Maintain and update patient records using the EPIC system.
• Participate in rotating on-call shifts and respond to emergencies with a 30-minute response time.
• Ensure compliance with all facility guidelines and safety protocols.
Unit Information:
• Unit: Cardiac Open Heart Surgery Unit (CVOR)
• Patient Population: Patients requiring open-heart surgery and cardiovascular procedures.
Required Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in the CVOR setting, specifically with open-heart surgery.
• Licenses: Must have a valid PA or multi-state nursing license.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS)
• Open-heart experience required
Skills:
• Scrubbing experience for cardiovascular surgeries
• Competence in using the EPIC system for patient documentation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
• Experience with cardiac surgery procedures and instrumentation.
Work Schedule:
• Shifts: 3x12-Hour shifts (06:00 - 18:30) with alternating days off.
• On-call: 1-2 call days per week with a 30-minute response time.
• Weekends: Every third or fourth weekend (Friday 4:30 PM to Monday 6:00 AM).
• Holidays: As needed.
