Description
Overview:
Join our dedicated mental health team at this Correctional Facility as a Licensed Psychologist. This vital role supports the psychological well-being and rehabilitation of incarcerated individuals through clinical assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention. Qualifications:
- Must hold a current and valid Psychologist license issued by the California Board of Psychology.
- A minimum of 12 continuous months of relevant experience within the last 3 years (post-licensure; internship/practicum hours not applicable).
- Must be proficient in spoken and written English to ensure effective communication and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a full range of psychological services under the clinical direction of the Senior Psychologist or Chief of Mental Health.
- Conduct psychological evaluations, develop diagnostic impressions, and formulate individualized treatment plans.
- Lead and participate in individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis interventions, including cell-front contacts as required.
- Complete mental status examinations, review clinical records, and utilize collateral data to support diagnostic and treatment decisions.
- Actively contribute to Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IOTT) meetings and ensure thorough documentation of all clinical interventions.
- Support institutional transitions and discharge planning, facilitating appropriate referrals to community-based mental health resources.
- Uphold institutional safety and security standards by maintaining therapeutic boundaries and following correctional procedures.
- Remain in compliance with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) laws, policies, and operational guidelines.
Nightingale's List Job ID. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
