Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a licensed and dedicated Physical Therapist to provide school-based services to students for a 9-month academic contract. The Physical Therapist will support students’ mobility, access, and participation within the educational environment by assessing physical development, designing individualized interventions, and working collaboratively with educational staff and families.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (or Doctorate) in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Physical Therapist.
  • Pediatric or school-based experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.

Work Schedule:

  • Follows the school district’s academic calendar
  • Typically Monday through Friday during school hours
Key Responsibilities: Evaluate students to determine needs for physical therapy services related to educational goals. Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in coordination with students' IEP teams. Provide direct physical therapy services to support functional mobility, gross motor development, and access to the school environment. Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, and other school personnel to ensure integrated service delivery. Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications as needed. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals and objectives. Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and IEP data. Educate school staff and parents on strategies and activities to promote student independence and safety.
