MUST Float from triage, labor and delivery nurse, baby nurse for normal newborn deliveries/transitions, postpartum nurse taking both moms and babies and circulating in the OR. Will not float out of scope

Unit L&D/PP/MB
# of L&D Beds- 14 LDRP (Labor and Delivery, Recover and Post Partum) Laboring Moms will stay in the same room throughout the stages of labor and recovery
# of OR Suites- 2 - they staff their own C-sections
# of triage beds-3 - Triage experience is required
# of Special Care Nursery (Level 2)- 5 beds caring for babies greater than 1800g (phototherapy, blood glucose management, opiate withdrawal, antibiotics, respiratory support, growers/feeders
# of births per day, per year- 1000 Births per year on average.
Do ratios follow AWHONN guidelines?- Absolutely adhere to AWHONN for example 1:1 for active labor, dedicated baby nurse at every birth. Special care nursery up to 1:3, less based on acuity. 1 nurse to 2-3 couplets for recovered moms. 1:1 through recovery phase.
Required Certifications- BLS, NRP Required.
Common diagnoses/Types of patients- multiples twins not triplets, vbacs, at risk patients (HTN/hemorrhage). Antepartum - preterm labor, infections, post op gyn
