Job Title:<ul><li>Special Education Teacher (K-12)</li></ul>Location:<ul><li>Jamaica, NY</li></ul>Schedule / Job Type:<ul><li>Full-time, contract / direct hire</li></ul>Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Co-teach alongside general education teachers in a classroom setting with approximately 26 students.</li><li>Serve as the case manager for students' IEPs, including lesson modifications and small group support.</li><li>Develop and implement accessible, content-based curricula collaboratively with team members.</li><li>Assess student progress through formal and informal assessment methods.</li><li>Build students' academic, social, and emotional skills to support overall development.</li></ul>Required Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in special education (master’s preferred).</li><li>Valid New York State teaching certification in Special Education.</li><li>Experience working with high school and/or middle school students.</li><li>Experience supporting students with diverse disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities, autism, developmental delays).</li><li>Ability to work effectively within a co-teaching, collaborative environment.</li><li>Experience with IEP case management, lesson modifications, and small group support.</li></ul>
