Contract Length: 13 weeks (91 days)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 per week
On-Call: Possible
Weekends: Every other weekend

Location Rule:

• Candidates living within 35 miles of the facility are subject to a 10% rate decrease (address or driver’s license required in submission).
  Facility Focus:
• Acute crisis stabilization, assessment, and treatment for children with serious emotional and behavioral challenges.

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and deliver care to pediatric patients in the Co-Occurring Disorders Inpatient Treatment Program.
Responsibilities include:

• Utilizing the nursing process for patients requiring complex psychiatric care.
• Supervising Mental Health Workers (MHWs) to ensure safe and therapeutic delivery of care.
• Supporting patients with co-occurring psychiatric disorders (e.g., Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders) alongside substance use recovery.
• Assisting in medically assisted withdrawal, stabilization, education, and recovery support.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of Psychiatric RN experience (inpatient psych experience within the last 3 months required).
• Children’s Psych/Behavioral Health experience required (must list specific age groups on resume).
• LTC experience not accepted.
• Must be willing to float to other units and take charge shifts.
• First-time travelers will be considered.

Documents Required:

• Resume with clear psych experience and age groups listed
  (Format: Psych RN – Facility – Age Group/Population – Dates) will need to have 1 year ot the required minimum 5 years to be as recent 1 year.
• Psych skills checklist (within last year)
• 2 supervisory references from the last 2 years
• Certifications:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • CPI (if not current, must complete onsite; 8 hrs NBO added to COA)
• License: Must be willing and eligible to obtain Vermont license
• Driver’s license or address (to verify mileage for rate)
