Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Start Date: November 10 (No exceptions — must be available to start on this date)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (91 days)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 per week
On-Call: Possible
Weekends: Every other weekend

Unit: Children’s Unit (ages 5–12)
Location Rule:
- Candidates living within 35 miles of the facility are subject to a 10% rate decrease (address or driver’s license required in submission).
Facility Focus: - Acute crisis stabilization, assessment, and treatment for children with serious emotional and behavioral challenges.
Position Overview
The Registered Nurse will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and deliver care to pediatric patients in the Co-Occurring Disorders Inpatient Treatment Program.
Responsibilities include:
- Utilizing the nursing process for patients requiring complex psychiatric care.
- Supervising Mental Health Workers (MHWs) to ensure safe and therapeutic delivery of care.
- Supporting patients with co-occurring psychiatric disorders (e.g., Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders) alongside substance use recovery.
- Assisting in medically assisted withdrawal, stabilization, education, and recovery support.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of Psychiatric RN experience (inpatient psych experience within the last 3 months required).
- Children’s Psych/Behavioral Health experience required (must list specific age groups on resume).
- LTC experience not accepted.
- Must be willing to float to other units and take charge shifts.
- First-time travelers will be considered.
Documents Required:
- Resume with clear psych experience and age groups listed
(Format: Psych RN – Facility – Age Group/Population – Dates) will need to have 1 year ot the required minimum 5 years to be as recent 1 year. - Psych skills checklist (within last year)
- 2 supervisory references from the last 2 years
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- CPI (if not current, must complete onsite; 8 hrs NBO added to COA)
- License: Must be willing and eligible to obtain Vermont license
- Driver’s license or address (to verify mileage for rate)
