RN – Med Surg
Facility: Mount Sinai Hospital
Location: 1468 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10029
Start Date: December 15, 2025 (or ASAP upon credentialing)
Duration: 9 Weeks (Estimated End Date: February 14, 2026)
Shift: Nights – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: May float to MSW/MSM as needed

Position Overview:
The Med-Surg unit at Mount Sinai Hospital provides high-quality nursing care to adult patients with medical and surgical needs. The Clinical Nurse (RN) delivers safe, competent, and evidence-based care, integrating nursing theory, research, and organizational standards. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, critical thinking in care management, interdisciplinary collaboration, patient/family education, and participation in quality and safety initiatives.
Requirements:
Licensure:
- NYS RN License – Required
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years RN experience – Required
- Minimum 2 years medical/surgical experience – Required
- EPIC EMR experience – Highly preferred
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Associate degree in Nursing accepted with relevant experience or active BSN matriculation
Certifications:
- BLS (AHA) – Required
Unit & Patient Details:
- Unit: Med-Surg – Mount Sinai Hospital
- Unit Beds: 35
- Average Daily Census: 33–34 patients
- Patient Age Group: Adults
- Patient Ratios: Variable based on census
Scheduling & Float:
- Nights, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend coverage
- May float to MSW/MSM as needed
