RN – NICU – Contract – Mount Sinai Hospital

 

Facility: Mount Sinai Hospital
Location: 1176 5th Ave, New York, NY 10029
Start Date: December 15, 2025 (or ASAP upon credentialing)
End Date: March 14, 2026
Shift: Nights – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Type: Travel / Contract

Position Overview:

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to critically ill newborns requiring advanced life support, respiratory management, and continuous monitoring. The Clinical Nurse delivers safe, evidence-based, and family-centered care within Mount Sinai’s Relationship Centered Care model.

 

Requirements:

Licensure:

  • Current New York State RN License – Required

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of NICU experience in a hospital setting – Required
  • Must have Level III and Level IV NICU experience – Required
  • Must have Ostomy, Ventilator, and Bubble CPAP experience – Required
  • Mechanical ventilation management experience – Required
  • EPIC EMR experience – Highly preferred
  • Travel nursing experience – Preferred but not required

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Associate Degree in Nursing considered with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program

Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA) – Required
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required

Unit Details:

  • Unit: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – Level III/IV
  • Average Unit Census: ~45
  • Beds: 46
  • Staffing Ratios: 1:1 to 1:3 based on patient acuity
  • Patient Population: Critically ill and premature neonates requiring advanced respiratory support, surgical intervention, and complex care
  • Equipment Used: Ventilators, Bubble CPAP, infusion pumps, monitors
  • Documentation System: EPIC
