Registered Nurse (RN), Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Patient Ratio: 1:2
Contract Type: Travel
Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years ICU experience
First-Time Travelers Accepted: No
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Float Requirement: Yes – within scope, to ICU units within the service line
Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
Pending License Accepted: Yes
RTO Restrictions: Max 7 days
Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks (Cancelled shifts must match assigned shift length; holiday shifts and charge assignments as needed)

Required Certifications

BLS
ACLS
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
CPI* (if required by facility)
TNCC* (preferred/if noted)

Required Clinical Skills
Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) experience
Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) experience
Interpretation & management of dysrhythmias
Management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
Obtain & interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG
Central Venous Pressure (CVP) monitoring
Pulmonary Artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring
Care of patients with acute & chronic renal failure
Arterial line insertion/care/management
Blood product administration
Central/PICC line care and management
Starting & maintaining IVs
Continuous IV sedation
Emergency medications
Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
CVA/Acute stroke management
BiPAP management
Ventilator management & care of ventilated patients
Interpretation of ABGs
Respiratory failure management
Suctioning (ETT, NT)
Infection prevention & isolation precautions/PPE
Phlebotomy
Surgical wound/drain/Wound Vac management
