Job Title: RN – Med/Surg Tele Pulmonary (Travel)
Location: DCH – Alabama (Travel Position)
Shift: 07:00–19:00 (Days)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week (36 or 48 hours/week accepted)
Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Med/Surg Telemetry Pulmonary unit at a DCH facility in Alabama. This 36-bed pulmonary telemetry unit focuses on diagnosing and treating patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions. Nurses in this unit provide specialized, high-quality care for patients with acute and chronic lung diseases and injuries.
This unit values strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Care Management, and Pharmacy. Candidates must have a solid foundation in general medicine along with strong respiratory care skills.
Unit Overview:
- 36-bed Pulmonary Telemetry Unit
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Specialty focus: Respiratory and pulmonary disorders
- Collaborative care environment with multiple allied health departments
- Must be willing to float to other units and affiliated hospitals
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Alabama or Compact – No temporary licenses accepted)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum requirement)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (18 months considered with recent, high-level specialty experience)
- At least 1 year recent experience in Med/Surg or Pulmonary specialty
Required Certifications:
- AHA BLS

- Telemetry monitoring
- Respiratory care and pulmonary disease management
- Oxygen therapy and respiratory interventions
- Patient assessment and medication administration
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams
- Acute care nursing in Med/Surg or specialty units
