Description

Department: ER *Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS TNCC, (NRP Preferred) Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. *NEED RECENT LEVEL 1 OR LEVEL 2 TRAUMA EXP* **Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.** **Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract * * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * - Level I Trauma Center, Pediatric Certified by State, Comprehensive Stroke Center - # of Beds/Trauma Bays: 20 beds, 5 Trauma, 10 OBS, and hallway beds - Do you have a Fast Track?: Yes- 6 beds - Do you have a separate Triage area?: 3 triage beds - Is Security in-house 24/7? Housed in the ER?: Yes - Ratios: 1:4 in zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, 1:1 ICU/Trauma - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Trauma, sepsis, chest pain, SOB, strokes-TPA - Common drips: All common drips seen in level I trauma ERs - ED Physician &/or Mid-Levels staffed?: Yes both are staffed - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift?: Yes there is a charge nurse - Are there nurse aids/EMT/Paramedics/Patient Sitters on each shift? Ratios? Duties?: Yes- 1:10 in OBS, 1:20 in main ED - Do you have Tele/Monitor Techs in the ER? Are RNs required to read their own strips?: Yes, RNs must read and interpret - Shifts & Scheduling: 0700-1900, 0900-2100, 1100-2300, 1500-0300, 1900-0700 // Leadership will make schedule - Weekend Requirements: Varies based on department needs - Holiday Requirements: Varies based on department needs - Floating Requirements: Will float to OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once a week - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 week of onboarding, 2 shifts at Bergan, 1 shift at UC - Additional Notes: Fast paced, high acuity Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidate may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions. Entered on: 11/29/2023
